Eggs, The Furry

The Furry Eggs

From the Web: Furry Eggs (AKA Ed Stander – glass harmonica) – Ed is a distinguished gentleman and apparently a bit of a brainiac. When not circling his damp fingertips over the rims of variously filled glasses to produce sounds pure enough to uncross the eyes of Siamese cats, he trains atoms at a leading university. www.performers.net/library/me-waterloo.html

Mix a dozen or so water filled brandy glasses and a professor of geology and what have you got? Music that is both eerie and beautiful, as the audience listen to the Angelica you can’t help but wonder, if only they knew the dark comical thoughts his mind is creating while he wipes his liquid dripping fingers round and around the glass rims . www.nicknickolas.com/edmonton.html

The Furry Eggs
Musician
New York
Ed Stander is one of only 12 Angelica players in the world. No wonder – the instrument, a musical place setting of crystal glasses, was once thought to cause insanity. These days, listening to the strange and beautiful music of the Angelica is more likely to inspire awe.

I just watched episode out rageous of science on the Discovery Channel, the episode was called hacker verse, and there was a couple playing an item called a glass harp, and made it look like it was a new item. I saw the furry eggs performHalifax buskers festival, which predates this couples performance by quite a few years. Go Furry Eggs!

  2. Scott Hewlett says:

The Furry Eggs enjoyed playing, mostly on the street as buskers, and drawing in passersby with music from “everywhere and nowhere”. One of our favourite haunts was the bench in front of the Funiculaire across from the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City. Aside from the two recordings listed above we also recorded a cd titled Music Of The Spheres. Ed still does the odd gig around upstate NY. If any festival organizers are reading this, we’d be happy to consider filling an oddity slot on the program.
    Cheers!
