Dead or Alive were a British New Wave band from Wirral, England, United Kingdom, Europe. The band rose to fame in the 1980s with their number one single on the UK Singles Chart, “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)”. They were the first group to have a number one single under the production team Stock Aitken Waterman. The band, which has variously included Pete Burns (vocalist), Wayne Hussey (guitarist and songwriter), Mike Percy (bass guitarist), Steve Coy (drummer), Timothy Lever (various instruments), and Jason Alburey (keyboardist), has released eleven albums, and has become popular in Japan, especially after the release of Rip it Up in 1987.
