New England Trip 2012 – Day 2 – SUNY Canton

Our first day on the road was a short one and we stayed the night at the Stonefence Resort outside of Ogdensburg.  At this time of the year, finding a place to stay is pretty easy since families with school-aged children aren’t normally vacationing.   In fact, at this time of the year, our car usually finds it pretty lonely in the parking lot and we generally have the restaurant all to our selves or need to share with only a limited number of other guests.  Certainly no line-ups! 🙂

We didn’t have any particular pre-determined route or schedule for this vacation so, like the fence, our route could have a few twists and bends. Our first stop along today’s route was at the State University of New York Canton Campus. Plenty of colourful trees to photograph and a nice-looking campus with plenty of parking for our short-term use.

After we looked at some of the beautiful Autumn colours and a few of the buildings on the campus, we were ready to head off further south along the edge of the Adirondacks.

Great day with nice blue skies overhead as we headed south to our next stop at Colton, NY.
