Central Park, New York City, NY

The pond is a central feature of the southern end of Central Park with plenty of rowboats available for rental and a great way to unwind a bit without going too far from city life.

After all of the walking, a bit of lunch in the Boathouse restaurant was in order and after a bit of food and reflection, we were able to head back out into the park with renewed vigor. Plenty of buildings to look at as we made our way back toward the subway station.

As we headed along the central pathway and imagined what Central Park might have been like before Dutch Elm Disease destroyed most of North America’s stately elm trees, I had to stop to watch huge bubbles being formed from buckets of soapy liquid and a lot of talent.
