Spring is on the way – Greenbelt Trails, Nepean, Ontario

Spring is arriving on its own schedule but there is no doubt that it will arrive – some years it comes as a lamb sometimes it comes in with a roar, but either way it does arrive.

With snow and ice still on some of the trails, it is always nice to find a short stretch of cleared boardwalk where my father (90 y.o) and his walker can travel safely. Such was the case today.

This day the creatures of the woods (Red Squirrel and Pine Siskin) were searching among the fallen seeds to see if they could find a morsel or two to their liking.

Even though the woods may still seem to be wearing the drab colours of winter, look a bit harder and amazing how the new moss and the yellow of Witch’s Butter brighten up even the smallest corner of the forest.
